What is an MCCB?
An MCCB (Moulded Case Circuit Breaker) is an advanced protective device for medium- to high-current circuits. Encased in a moulded insulating shell, each unit offers:
Adjustable protection: long-time (Ir), short-time (Isd) and instantaneous (Ii) settings
High interrupting capacity: safely clears large fault currents

Types of Schneider MCCBs
Schneider classifies MCCBs by frame size and trip-unit technology rather than B/C/D curves. Key families include:
ComPacT NSXm (16 A – 160 A) – fixed or adjustable thermal-magnetic trip, breaking capacity up to 70 kA, ultra-compact footprint.
ComPacT NSX (25 A – 630 A) – thermal-magnetic or Micrologic electronic trip, breaking capacity up to 150 kA, built-in metering and communications.
ComPacT NS (630 A – 1600 A) – Micrologic electronic trip, breaking capacity up to 150 kA, extended protection settings for large feeders.
